God isn’t an intense God, but God can handle our intensity. He doesn’t rise to the level of our emotion.
Waves are a season. Jesus didn’t stay up every night in this kind of intense prayer.
Was it right or wrong that the disciples fell asleep? I think this is the wrong question. If I was in their shoes, I would have fallen asleep too. I mean “God’s got this right?” It’s easy to feel that way when everything is calm, but …they would be in their own storm and waves soon enough.
