Big idea: What do we do when our anger is already on fire?

Main Point:

1.Pause

2.Don’t stoke the fire

3 Be humble

Prophetic Thought: Pretty much everyone gets angry, for some it is a daily occurrence, for others it is more rare. Pretty much everyone lands there eventually. The anger that we are feeling is not necessarily sin, but what you do with your anger, what anger leads to, that is where sin can get a foothold.  Many times anger is just a symptom of other underlying emotions, like hurt, disappointment or frustration. Depression and anxiety are fast friends with anger. We try to disguise what is really going on, how we really feel.  Due to our pride, anger can feel a safer emotion to express than others. Anger can and will steal our joy.  Anger  provokes arguments with both our loved ones and strangers alike. Anger that is not dealt with, can breed bitterness and discontentment. We can lose sight of what is important, what really matters, and what “winning” in a relationship actually looks like. What do we do once we are already on fire with anger?
