Part 2 James 1:5
Big idea: Searching to Seaking
Wisdom to action- Searching to seeking
Main Point: Asking God without holding back
Prophetic Thought: When things feel unclear, our instinct is often to lean on our own understanding while asking God to bless the outcome. What does it look like to genuinely ask God for wisdom, not as a last resort, but as an act of trust? A faith that is being formed learns to ask honestly, listen humbly, and believe that God is both willing and able to guide us.
It's interesting that it says we should not be afraid to ask. Do we ask for wisdom, and when we do, we turn our thoughts into action. If we are to turn our thoughts into action, how do we know it was the lord?
The Application: Asking God without holding back. Do we truly trust the Source? When we seek answers hurriedly and under pressure, we are prone to mistakes. Trials and tests have a way of turning up the heat. The pressure makes us feel as if everything will fall apart if we don't act immediately. In those moments, we often default to relying on our own limited knowledge and forget God’s infinite wisdom. However, when we take the time to ask with a humble heart, we position ourselves to receive. We must pray, listen, and seek without fear. God’s wisdom, released through our prayers, leads to action, not to acting. We don’t have to pretend or put on a mask. Wisdom grows the moment we stop relying on a backup plan and finally place our confidence fully in Him.
