Title: Awkward Conversations
Big idea: Why do we avoid awkward conversations? Because it exposes the war within us.
Main Point: Face it, don’t flee it
Prophetic Thought: Do we avoid the awkward conversation? Do we duck out early, cut someone off, or shut it down before things get really serious? We tell ourselves the problem is the other person, but it’s not always someone else’s problem. James says a war rages in us, and relationships shine a light on it. Maybe what we’re really avoiding isn’t them, but what they expose in us. But here’s the good news: God doesn’t avoid us. At the cross, Jesus walked straight into the war in our hearts, saw it all, and stayed. He invites us to bring it to Him, because He has already moved toward us.
