Filled - Part 3
Part 3-
Big idea: Why are spiritual gifts given?
Main Point: To love well
Prophetic Thought: We live in a jam-packed world that can feel incredibly lonely. Most of us are racing from one thing to the next, slowly becoming so isolated and walled up by our schedules that we miss the beauty of helping or caring for people. We easily miss the very ones God has placed in our path. But in this ordinary busyness, God offers us something extraordinary. Through the Holy Spirit, we are given insight that goes beyond our own understanding. These spiritual gifts act as bridges, connecting us to people in their darkest moments—especially when we feel most helpless. Where our natural strength ends, the Spirit provides the supernatural fuel we need to tear down our walls and experience the joy of loving others well.
Application: The noise of "not doing enough" becomes a gong of generosity that rings empty. But the Holy Spirit is waiting for us to surrender our will to His will. If we wait for the world to care for us first, we will stay empty forever. However, when we surrender our "right to be cared for" and let the Holy Spirit fill us, we find that His grace is the only thing that actually satisfies that "gaping hole." We don't love others because we have plenty in ourselves; we love because He is plenty.
