It’s easy to feel like we can’t see beyond our circumstances that we are experiencing, especially if our circumstances feel like they are turning our world upside down and we’re not sure how we’re going to make it out at all. Whether we saw chaos on the horizon, or it took us by surprise, life’s storms have a way of irrevocably changing our perspectives about the world, about ourselves, and about God. Nobody, despite our best efforts, comes through any storm unchanged, and maybe that’s the whole point. When everything feels hopeless, are we willing to discard everything and return to the basics, allowing God to speak truth into who we are?
